Last Saturday the 21st of May, the AlgaeWales team members: Dr Sara Barrento, Maria Scolamacchia, and Fleuriane Fernandes prepared an exciting outreach event exploring different activities in different environments (see pdf below): the lecture room, the lab and a site visit to an unique facility in the country: the Centre for Sustainable Aquatic Research. In the lab they discovered the invisible world of microalgae, and observed tiny animals – artemia and rotifers. Together they discovered the age of cockles and found out why laver is part of the Welsh traditional breakfast .
